Fans of the popular Netflix period drama will notice the Duke of Hastings is missing from season 2 of Bridgerton. Here’s why Regé-Jean Page isn’t returning and what he’s up to now.

Many of us have been patiently counting down the days till Bridgerton season 2 drops on Netflix. Promising more society gossip, awkward love triangles and property porn – thanks to the stately homes where Bridgerton is filmed – season 1 ticked all the boxes when it came to our boxset binge-watching needs. Though sadly, there’s a rather BIG element that fans will be missing in the follow-up series – a certain Simon Bassett aka the Duke of Hastings.

His and Daphne Bridgerton’s love story dominated the narrative in the first series. And their intimate moments proved famous enough for actress Phoebe Dynevor to share that she wouldn’t let her grandparents watch Bridgerton because of it. Bidding goodbye to their romance and Regé-Jean Page will prove to be a hard pill to swallow for some. But there’s a specific reason as to why he won’t be returning. We share all the need-to-know information about his departure and what the beloved British actor is up to now.

Why is the Duke of Hastings not in Bridgerton season 2?

Technically Regé-Jean Page’s character the Duke of Hastings is still ‘in’ Bridgerton, but he won’t be making any on-screen appearances. Season 2 focuses on Anthony Bridgerton’s hunt for true love and so the Duke is no longer integral to the main storyline.

Bridgerton‘s narrator Lady Whistledown confirmed the Duke’s exit in an social media announcement shared April 2, 2021. “Dear Readers, while all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings,” the post read. Adding: “We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.”

Executive producer Chris Van Dusen explained how the show would cover the Duke of Hastings’ disappearance in Bridgerton season 2: “We do reference Simon,” he told TVLine. “In the very first scene of Season 2, Daphne mentions she left her husband and baby at home [to be there for Eloise’s debut].

“Unfortunately, it didn’t work out in terms of Regé being a part of the second season, but he will always be Bridgerton‘s Duke,” he added. “He’s not going anywhere in the world of the show. And just because we don’t see him, it doesn’t mean that he’s not there.”

Why is Regé-Jean Page not returning to Bridgerton?

Thankfully Regé-Jean Page’s departure has nothing to do with creative differences behind the scenes. Instead, in an interview explaining his absence, Page shared he wasn’t returning because he only signed up for the one season.

“[They said] It’s a one-season arc,” he told GQ last year. “It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end – give us a year. “[I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”

“I have nothing but excitement for ‘Bridgerton’ continuing to steam train off and conquer the globe,” he added. “But there is also value in completing these arcs and sticking the landing.”

A post shared by Regé-Jean Page (@regejean)

Bridgerton producer Shonda Rhimes agreed that the actor’s contract was only set for a year. And she doesn’t hold his decision not to return against him, but rather thinks it’s just the start for the 34-year-old:

“Rightfully, he said, ‘I signed up to do this one lovely story, this closed-ended storyline. I’m good!'” she told Variety. “And I don’t blame him for that. I think that he was really smart to leave the perfection as the perfection.”

She added that he’s also “an enormous star” now. “As I like to say, the idea that we would write Regé to stand around in the background doesn’t make any sense at all to me. What would he do? is what I like to say.”

It seems the 52-year-old is just as sad as fans he won’t be returning. After news broke that Page wouldn’t be back in April 2021, she tweeted a tribute to the pivotal character. “Remember: the Duke is never gone. He’s just waiting to be binge watched all over again,” she wrote with an accompanying photo.

Twenty minutes later Regé-Jean also tweeted in reaction to the news of his no-return. Retweeting the Bridgerton announcement tweet he added: “Pleasure and a privilege! An honour to be a member of the family – on and off screen, cast, crew and incredible fans – the love is real and will just keep growing.”

Where is Regé-Jean Page now?

Though no longer in Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page has a number of exciting projects coming up. The 34-year-old actor most recently narrated the Netflix documentary Surviving Paradise: A Family Tale. He also stars in the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film, plus thriller The Grey Man alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.

— Netflix (@netflix) March 3, 2022

The Hollywood Reporter also reports that Regé-Jean will produce and star in an as yet unnamed “heist thriller” film. The movie will be written and directed by Fargo creator Noah Hawley and produced by the Russo brothers’ production company AGBO.

Of course there’s also the James Bond rumours flying around. With Rege one name being put forward to play the new 007. Though the actor has been careful not to confirm or deny reports.

“Well, of all the things you’ll read about yourself on the internet, it’s one of the more pleasant and more flattering,” Page said about the gossip. “But I take it and leave it at that, personally.”

Is Daphne in season 2 of Bridgerton?

Yes, Daphne Bridgerton played by Phoebe Dynevor will be back for season 2 of Bridgerton. Lady Whistledown confirmed her return via the show’s official Instagram account. “Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer,” the statement read.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Phoebe teased fans with what they can expect from her character in Bridgerton season 2.

“Daphne has become the adult of the family,” she said. “She’s found what she’s looking for — she’s had a baby, she’s a wife and mother. There’s a real confidence and womanhood about her this season.”

She added that the newly married Duchess has become “the rock of the siblings in this season”. She added: “Daphne’s leading the way in terms of knowing what love is, what it means, and what marriage means, and she’s trying to pass on that knowledge to Anthony.”

With regards to her on-screen husband’s exit, the actress said that Page’s departure was “a spanner” in the works. But again reflected that the Duke’s exit wasn’t something that should come as a surprise given the structure of the show.

She told the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast: “The show centers around the Bridgertons and there are eight books. And I think maybe the fans of the books were more aware of that happening than the fans of the show. I think the fans of the books know that every season is about a different sibling.”

The Duchess’ presence is not the only thing returning either, with the same classical riffs on pop songs expected in the Bridgerton season 2 soundtrack too.

Will the Duke return to Bridgerton in the future?

All hope is not lost for fans of the Duke of Hastings, as Regé-Jean Page has not publicly ruled out a future return to Bridgerton. The actor was asked if he would make a cameo appearance in season two of the show or any other future seasons. To which he neither confirmed nor denied.

“I couldn’t possibly tell you!” he said in an interview with GQ last September. “Isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?”

Homemade Hamburger Helper Recipe - How to Make Hamburger ...

Will Dickey

If you’re a parent or child of the '80s, you probably remember the Hamburger Helper puppet—that ever-cheerful, inexplicably four-fingered cartoon mascot who was always waving you to dinner with a little help from his handy box of dried pasta and seasonings. But while that flavor is nostalgic, sometimes a homemade meal is what you're craving. If you’re in the mood for beef, this is one dinner that’s guaranteed to reward your cravings.

What makes Homemade Hamburger Helper better than the store-bought version?

There’s absolutely no shame in pulling a box from the pantry to help you get dinner on the table in a hurry. But if you have a handful of extra minutes, making this recipe from scratch yields a richer, more flavorful dinner. The spices in your pantry are more potent, the fresh onion and garlic add more robust flavors than the dried versions in the box mix, and the broth and tomato sauce bring a deep, savory richness to the beef and pasta.

What do I need to make Homemade Hamburger Helper?

Everything you need to make Hamburger Helper from scratch is most likely already in your fridge and pantry right now: one pound of hamburger meat, four slices of bacon, dried seasonings, canned tomato sauce and broth, a little cream or milk, and some fresh onion and garlic. It’s comfort food, fast—and we all need more of that right now.

Can I use any pasta in Hamburger Helper?

Technically, you can use any pasta in this recipe, but to make it feel like classic Hamburger Helper, it’s best to use a shorter pasta, like elbow macaroni. You can use longer pasta if that’s all you have, but be warned that your brain may try to convince you that you’re eating spaghetti! Anything short, like rotini, penne or even shells, will encourage a more enthusiastic high-four from the Hamburger Helper glove. 😉

Is Hamburger Helper a one-pot recipe?

Yes, Hamburger Helper is actually made all in one pot! The broth, combined with the tomato sauce and cream, is just enough to help cook the pasta while the meat simmers.

When Does Spider-Man Leave Theaters And Come To Disney+?

11-01-2022 · There is yet to be any news regarding when Spider-Man: No Way Home will be leaving theaters, but most movies have a 90-day theatrical release window. Meanwhile, there is no update regarding its Disney+ release because it will release on Starz first, thanks to a deal struck by Sony with Starz.

Despite the threat of COVID-19 and the fact that theaters haven’t been quite as successful as they were before the pandemic, Spider-Man: No Way Home was a huge success and instantly pulled people over to the cinemas. But while some people may not mind watching the movie in theaters, there are some who would rather wait for it to come to Disney . So, when does Spider-Man: No Way Home leave theaters and come to Dinsey ?

There is yet to be any news regarding when Spider-Man: No Way Home will be leaving theaters, but most movies have a 90-day theatrical release window. Meanwhile, there is no update regarding its Disney release because it will release on Starz first, thanks to a deal struck by Sony with Starz.

Even though we saw movies like Shang-Chi and The Eternals leaving the theaters rather quickly and making their way to Disney , Spider-Man: No Way Home is a different case because it is a collaboration between Disney and Sony. That means that Sony, being the company that owns the rights to Spider-Man theatrically, also has a say on the matter.

How Long Will Spider-Man: No Way Home Stay In Cinemas?

Like Shang-Chi and The Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home was able to enjoy a theatrical release on December 17, 2021, due to how the economy has been steadily opening up after it was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Even if the threat of COVID-19 and its evolving variants is still looming over our heads, Spider-Man: No Way Home lived up to the hype of its most-watched trailer.

Despite the fact that some people are still hesitant to watch movies in theaters due to the pandemic, Spider-Man: No Way Home is a massive success and is the eighth highest-grossing movie of all time as of this writing. With a current total gross of over .5 billion, it is still rising through the rankings, as there are still plenty of theaters worldwide showing this movie.

We’ll be the first ones to tell you that Spider-Man: No Way Home is best seen in theaters because of its amazing effects and its high-quality cinematography. So, if you haven’t seen it in theaters yet, how long will No Way Home stay in theaters?

As of now, there is no certainty as to how long Spider-Man: No Way Home will be staying in theaters. In most cases, movies have a 90-day theatrical release window, and that means that they usually stay in cinemas for at most 90 days, depending on how well they perform. Naturally, moves that underperform leave the cinemas earlier.

However, a massive success such as Spider-Man: No Way Home will most likely maximize its hype and will probably stay in theaters for at least 90 days. The reason why we said it would stay in theaters for at least 90 days is due to the fact that some countries didn’t release the movie until the second week of January 2022.

That means that, even if the countries that released it on December 17, 2021, reach the 90-day mark, the movie may still stay in theaters in the countries that released the movie late.

On the other hand, there is a good chance that it will also follow the same route that Avengers: Endgame went through, as the film stayed in theaters until September of 2019 following its release in April of the same year, even though Endgame was already available for streaming a few months earlier.

While it might be silly to suggest that No Way Home will stay in theaters for four to five months, we are expecting it to continue to make money for cinemas for at least 90 days. Of course, because Morbius will be releasing in April and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness will be released in May, neither Sony nor Disney would want Spider-Man to compete with their newer movies.

When Does Spider-Man: No Way Home Leave Theaters?

Given that Spider-Man: No Way Home has a 90-day window to stay in theaters, as that is the case for most movies, we might expect the film to be in the cinemas until the second or third week of March 2022 in the countries that released the film on December 17, 2021.

Meanwhile, for countries that didn’t release the film until January of 2022, there might be a chance that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be staying in theaters until the first or second week of April 2022 or perhaps just before the release of Morbius.

When Does Spider-Man: No Way Home Come To Disney ?

While No Way Home may be as successful as it is, the notion that there are still people who are hesitant to watch it in theaters remains a fact. It could have performed a lot better had it been released at a better time when there was no pandemic ravaging the world. Still, if you are someone who is hesitant to watch it in theaters or if you just simply want to watch the amazing film again, when will it be coming to the Disney streaming service?

Some people might be optimistic about the chances of Spider-Man: No Way Home making its way to Disney quite early. After all, Endgame was released for streaming about three months after its theatrical release. Meanwhile, Shang-Chi made it to Disney 45 days after its theatrical release. The latest to receive a Disney release is The Eternals, which was slated to be available on Disney 70 days after its theatrical release.

In that regard, could it be possible for Spider-Man to be available on Disney three months after its theatrical release, just like Endgame?

The thing you need to know about Spider-Man: No Way Home is that this is a collaboration between Disney and Sony. Disney may have had a larger hand at producing the movie because it is part of the MCU, but the fact that Sony owns the licensing rights to the theatrical version of Spider-Man remains.

This means that Sony has first dibs when it comes to how it decides to distribute the streaming rights of this film. The bad news for Disney subscribers is that Sony already has a pre-existing deal with Starz to allow it to stream Spider-Man exclusively for 18 months.

So, given the fact that Starz will begin to stream Spider-Man for 18 months starting from March or April 2022, we might not be able to see No Way Home on Disney until the latter half of 2023. This means that it will be a long time before Spider-Man: No Way Home makes its way to Disney’s own streaming service, as Starz has first dibs on it.

How Long Are You Contagious With COVID? Here’s What We ...

18-02-2022 · The CDC says that its guidelines were updated to reflect growing evidence that suggests transmission of COVID-19 often occurs one to two days before the onset of symptoms and during the two to ...

When are people with COVID most contagious and how long can they spread it? When should you get tested after exposure and how long should you quarantine, if at all?

The latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shifted the timing for isolation and quarantine as some experts say the time frame when people are most contagious is earlier.

"As we've seen these new variants develop - delta, now omicron - what we're seeing is everything gets sped up from a COVID perspective," Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said Thursday. "It is taking less time from when someone is exposed to COVID to potentially develop infection. It is taking less time to develop symptoms, it is taking less time that someone may be infectious and it is, for many people, taking less time to recover. A lot of that is because many more people are vaccinated."

Here's what we know.

The CDC says that its guidelines were updated to reflect growing evidence that suggests transmission of COVID-19 often occurs one to two days before the onset of symptoms and during the two to three days after.

"This has to do with data from the CDC that really showed after seven days there's virtually no risk of transmission at this point," Arwady said. "And in that five-to-seven-day window, you know, there's some depending on whether people have been vaccinated underlying conditions, etc., but the risk drops a lot and the feeling is that in the general population, combined with masking, etc. the risk really is very low."

For those without symptoms, CDC guidance states they are considered contagious at least two days before their positive test.

The CDC states that anyone who may have been exposed to someone with COVID should test five days after their exposure, or as soon as symptoms occur.

"If symptoms occur, individuals should immediately quarantine until a negative test confirms symptoms are not attributable to COVID-19," the guidance states.

Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike said that incubation times could be changing, but those who test early should continue testing even if they get negative results.

"We might be learning that the time of incubation might be a little shorter. So maybe you'd be testing at two days," Ezike said. "Obviously if you're symptomatic, you test right away. But you know, if you want to test at two days, but that negative test... the two days should not make you think, 'oh good, I'm clear.' You know, you might want to test again and of course symptoms can you cannot ignore - scratchy throat, headaches, all kinds of symptoms - anything new can be a symptom of this new illness."

According to earlier CDC guidance, COVID symptoms can appear anywhere from two to 14 days after someone is exposed to the virus.

Anyone exhibiting symptoms should get tested for COVID-19.

First things first, those who believe they have been in contact with someone who has COVID and are unvaccinated should quarantine. Those who test positive, regardless of vaccination status, must isolate, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Here's the breakdown:

Those who have been within 6 feet of someone with COVID for a cumulative total of at least 15 minutes over a 24-hour period should quarantine for five days if unvaccinated or more than six months out from their second dose, according to updated CDC guidance issued Monday.

Once that period ends, they should partake in strict mask use for an additional five days.

Previously, the CDC said people who were not fully vaccinated and who came in close contact with an infected person should stay home for at least 10 days.

Prior to Monday, people who were fully vaccinated — which the CDC has defined as having two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine — could be exempt from quarantine.

Those who are both fully vaccinated and boosted do not need to quarantine if they are a close contact of someone with COVID, but should wear a mask for at least 10 days after exposure. The same goes for those who are fully vaccinated and not yet eligible for their booster shot.

Local health authorities can also make the final determination about how long a quarantine should last, however. And testing can play a role.

Illinois' health department said it will adopt the CDC revised guidelines on isolation and quarantine for COVID.

In Chicago, those who travel to or from certain parts of the country and are unvaccinated must quarantine upon arrival to the city, but the length of time they should do so for depends on whether they get tested for COVID.

The city has not yet said if the new CDC guidance will change its travel advisory guidelines.

As of Tuesday, the city's travel advisory recommends those who travel from designated warning states must:

  • Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days.
  • Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.
    • If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.
  • If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

"Due to the risk of severe illness and congregate transmission, IDPH recommends the full 14-day quarantine period rather than the shortened options described above in congregate living settings with vulnerable populations, such as skilled care and correctional facilities," the Illinois Department of Public Health states on its website.

People who are positive for COVID should stay home for five days, the CDC said Monday, changing guidance from the previously recommended 10 days.

At the end of the period, if you have no symptoms, you can return to normal activities but must wear a mask everywhere — even at home around others — for at least five more days.

If you still have symptoms after isolating for five days, stay home until you feel better and then start your five days of wearing a mask at all times.

So how do you calculate your isolation period?

According to the CDC, "day 0 is your first day of symptoms." That means that Day 1 is the first full day after your symptoms developed.

For those who test positive for COVID but have no symptoms, day 0 is the day of the positive test. Those who develop symptoms after testing positive must start their calculations over, however, with day 0 then becoming the first day of symptoms.

The CDC urges those who have or may have COVID-19 to watch for emergency warning signs and seek medical care immediately if they experience symptoms including:

  • Trouble breathing
  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
  • New confusion
  • Inability to wake or stay awake
  • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone

"This list is not all possible symptoms," the CDC states. "Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning to you."

You can also notify the operator that you believe you or someone you are caring for has COVID.

Those who test positive using an at-home test are asked to follow the latest CDC guidelines and communicate the results to their healthcare provider, who is responsible for reporting test results to the state health department.

According to Chicago-area health departments, people should assume the test results are accurate and should isolate from others to reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

"If you test positive for COVID-19, you must isolate," Arwady said. "There is no need to repeat a positive at-home test in a medical setting. We don't want people going into the emergency department just to get a tested. Treat a positive as a positive, stay home and isolate for five days."

If you had symptoms, the CDC says you can be around others after you isolate five days and stop exhibiting symptoms. However, you should continue to wear masks for five days to minimize the risk to others.

'How long after contracting COVID-19 can I get it again ...

11-01-2022 · As we enter the third year with COVID-19 circulating in the U.S., questions about the virus still abound. Here's what Pennsylvania experts have to say about reinfections, tests, and when you can ...

(WHTM) — As we enter the third year with COVID-19 circulating in the U.S., questions about the virus still abound. It might feel like everyone you know is catching the coronavirus lately, so here’s what Pennsylvania experts have to say about reinfections, tests, and when you can get together with people again after catching COVID.

Q: How long after recovering from COVID-19 could someone catch it again?

“The original recommendation from CDC was that once you had a COVID infection, for the next 90 days — the next three months — you were very unlikely to get COVID again. That’s been the case pretty much all along and I think it still holds, although keep in mind that with omicron, omicron can infect people that had COVID, say, back in the fall. So if you had the delta variant back in September, that only protects you to about 20% against omicron.

“One of the hallmarks of omicron is this concept of immune evasion; it can evade the immunity that’s generated by a prior natural infection, and it also to some extent can evade the immunity created by immunization.”

-Dr. Joseph Kontra, chief of infectious diseases, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

“We are assuming that you are fully immune for at least 90 days…There is a lot of evidence that it probably goes up to about six months, but that’s a probably. And then likely, immunity from natural COVID infection probably declines just like immunity from the vaccine declines with time.

“Part of the issue is that in a virus that just appeared a little less than two years ago, we obviously can’t say you’re immune for more than two years because it simply hasn’t existed long enough. So there’s a lot of what I would frankly admit is guesswork, but what I will tell you we’re seeing is with omicron, we’re seeing a lot of breakthrough infections in vaccinated individuals, fewer breakthrough infections in people who are vaccinated and have had a booster, and we’re also beginning to see, though at a lesser rate, people who are reinfected with COVID.

“The good news is that if you are vaccinated, you are much, much less likely to get very sick.”

-Dr. John Goldman, infectious disease specialist, UPMC

“Reinfection from SARS CoV-2 does occur. This is why CDC has always recommended that patients with a history of COVID-19 get vaccinated after clinical recovery. Natural immunity from COVID-19 is variable from patient to patient. Some medical experts have shown that asymptomatic/mild infections do not generate the robust immune response of those who experienced a severe infection. It is therefore difficult to predict an individual’s duration of natural immunity, which some studies mention may last 1-6 months.”

-Dr. Eugene Curley, infectious disease physician, WellSpan Health

Q: How common are reinfections? Are there differences between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals?

“What we’re seeing is reinfections are common, they occur with omicron, although we haven’t seen a lot of people get really sick or end up in the hospital with reinfections. What we also assume is that as antibodies gradually decline from natural infection, we’ll probably see more reinfections, and as the virus evolves, as it comes to new variants, we’ll probably see reinfections.

“My impression is that we have more breakthrough infections in people who have their first two shots but not the booster. The one thing that’s always extremely important — people sometimes go, ‘Well if I’m going to get reinfected, if I’m going to have a breakthrough infection, why should I get vaccinated?’ The real issue is, if you have a breakthrough infection, it’s likely to be very mild. We have seen breakthrough infections, but they tend to be something that resembles a minor cold, a slight increase in allergies. We have people who get sicker, but they rarely end up in the hospital.”

-Dr. John Goldman, infectious disease specialist, UPMC

“We are still learning how variants play a role in reinfection. Vaccinated individuals are not spared from reinfection. However, the vaccines do protect from severe disease, hospitalization, and death in immunocompetent persons who are boosted.”

-Dr. Eugene Curley, infectious disease physician, WellSpan Health

“In general, you are probably five to 10 times more likely to become infected if you are unvaccinated, and you are probably 15-20 times more likely to die from COVID if you end up being hospitalized.

“If you are vaccinated, even though you may get infected…it is likely to be mild, it’s likely to last a shorter amount of time, you’re less likely to transmit it to someone else and more quick to recover from it.”

-Dr. Joseph Kontra, chief of infectious diseases, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

Q: If you are unvaccinated and catch COVID-19, how long can/should you wait to get vaccinated?

“What I advise people is to wait 90 days because we know that you’re immune for 90 days, and if you have pre-existing immunity, you may get more side effects from the vaccine. So I typically recommend 90 days. You can make a case for waiting, I think you’re safe to wait up to six months, but because we don’t understand a lot about when you truly lose immunity, I would do it after 90 days.

“The one thing would be if you’re immune-suppressed for whatever reason, I would do it right away because people who are immune-suppressed probably have less long-acting antibodies.”

-Dr. John Goldman, infectious disease specialist, UPMC

“According to CDC guidelines, you can wait for those 90 days, but in point of fact, people often tend to do it much sooner, and I would say as soon as you’re not feeling ill anymore, and as long as you’re outside of your isolation period — seven, 10, or 21 days depending on your immune status — once you’re beyond that and you’re feeling well, you can get the vaccine, and there’s no harm in getting it sooner than 90 days.”

-Dr. Joseph Kontra, chief of infectious diseases, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

Q: How reliable are COVID-19 test results? Can you trust a negative test result to mean you are no longer infected?

“That depends a little bit on what type of test you’re taking and when you’re testing. What we have found is that antigen tests pick up about 2/3 of the positive cases compared to PCR. So if you’re taking an antigen test, you have about a 1/3 chance of missing a positive compared to a PCR.

“We have seen, especially in patients who are vaccinated and have household contacts, that their first test is often negative and their second test is positive. So for example at UPMC, if you have had a household contact and you have symptoms, in order to come back to work you need to have a first test and then a second test three to five days later, both have to be negative.”

-Dr. John Goldman, infectious disease specialist, UPMC

“Antigen tests (most home tests) are not as sensitive as PCR tests. Antigen tests are therefore more prone to false-negative testing. In certain situations (i.e. exposed/symptomatic person), a repeat test should be performed if the antigen test is negative. The antigen tests are good tools if you understand their limitations and the clinical context of the particular case. I recommend that patients talk with their healthcare provider regarding the results of home testing to direct need for retesting, isolation, return to work/school, and treatment.”

-Dr. Eugene Curley, infectious disease physician, WellSpan Health

“It kind of depends on the circumstance. Say you’re in a household where someone has COVID and you start to be ill, you start to get a cough and fever, the likelihood that you have COVID is very high. So if you get a negative test, I would consider that an unreliable result, especially if you’re using one of the home kits. So in that situation, you should go and get a PCR test at a medical facility.

“The home tests are able to pick up infection after a few days of your being infected. The PCR test, on the other hand, picks it up right away. So the home antigen test will pick you up if you do it repeatedly, and remember that the kits come typically with two swabs; you’re not supposed to use it on two people, you’re supposed to use it on yourself today and about 36 hours later because those two tests together will more likely pick up your infection if you have it.”

-Dr. Joseph Kontra, chief of infectious diseases, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

Q: How long after contracting COVID-19 can you safely get together with other people again?

“If (you or) your friend had severe disease, meaning they ended up in the hospital or ended up needing oxygen, you’re advised to wait 20 days* before they’re not infectious, before you’d be safe to hang out with them. If you had mild disease [and] provided you’re getting better, provided you have no fever, without a test, 10 days, and with a test, you can test on day five, and if the antigen test or the PCR is negative, you’re safe, you’re considered to be non-infectious.

“The issue is, one, the PCR often stays positive for 30 days, and I’ve seen it stay positive for months. And two…for example, if I had to hang out with an elderly parent or someone who is at risk, I wouldn’t do it before day 10 without a negative antigen test, and I probably would wait till day 10 if the other person, if they got COVID, were at risk of getting very sick.

“So severe disease — 20 days. Mild disease, no testing — 10 days. Mild disease with a negative antigen test — at day five, you can go back to work.”

*This is the number of days after developing symptoms

-Dr. John Goldman, infectious disease specialist, UPMC

“I wouldn’t trust tests that are done on consecutive days if one’s positive and one’s negative. But say someone’s infected and they’re getting better at five days, and they have another home antigen test and that’s negative, that person can then go and be around others with very little risk of transmission.”

-Dr. Joseph Kontra, chief of infectious diseases, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health

Looking for the Stimulus Check Phone Number at the IRS?

There are some great options for finding out information about your stimulus check instead of calling the IRS phone line. The IRS’s purpose-built stimulus check website is an excellent and informative resource if you need to know where your stimulus check is, find out if you’re eligible for one, or check how much you should receive.

The IRS has also created an app called Get My Payment that everyone can use to monitor their stimulus check status. You enter some personal information and can find out whether the government has sent your check. If the government has sent your check, you can even use something called the USPS Informed Delivery tool to obtain notifications regarding your payment’s transit status.

In case you’re wondering, you can call the IRS for help with your stimulus check payments. A representative may be able to answer questions that the IRS website cannot answer. If your question is very specific or the provided online resources can’t help you resolve your issue, there is a phone number you can call for help.

Before calling the phone line, the IRS wants everyone to consult its frequently asked questions page on its website and the Get My Payment tool for information. If these resources can’t answer your questions, you will be able to call the IRS Economic Impact Payment line at 800-919-9835.

Remember that an automated recording will try to help you before you’re connected with an actual representative, so make sure to have your questions and basic personal information ready for identity confirmation.

Previously, the IRS phone lines were simply not equipped to handle the enormous amount of inquiries created by the stimulus check programs. The IRS has added thousands of phone representatives to answer common questions about Economic Impact Payments, which is the official term for the ,200 recovery checks provided by the CARES Act.

This is excellent news for any and every American concerned about their stimulus checks, no matter the reason. While millions of payments have successfully gone out so far, there have been many complaints.

Online reports of stimulus checks issued in wrong amounts and with dependents missing are common. Others have reported their checks going to the wrong bank accounts or even benefiting deceased taxpayers.

Trump Hotel out of Business as Video Shows Signs …

12-05-2022 · Trump opened the hotel in 2016 just a few weeks before he was elected president. During his time in the White House, the hotel was a focal point for Trump's political world, used by diplomats ...

Videos have emerged of the Trump name being removed from the former president's flagship hotel in Washington D.C. after the property was sold off to an investment firm.

The Trump International Hotel, located just a short distance from the White House, is to be converted to a Waldorf Astoria after the Trump Organization agreed to sell the lease on the Old Post Office building to CGI Merchant Group for a reported 5 million.

Trump's name was always planned to be removed from the hotel once the takeover was complete.

A number of videos posted on social media by New York Times reporter Eric Lipton show workers slowly dismantling the signs bearing Trump's name from the front of the hotel ahead of the change of management.

In a statement, the Trump Organization said that the "record breaking" sale of the Trump International Hotel is the highest price per room ever achieved in Washington D.C., the highest price per room in U.S. history for a leasehold interest, and the largest sale of an historic hotel in more than 15 years.

"As a family, it has been an honor and a privilege to redevelop the Nation's Old Post Office," Eric Trump, one of the former president's sons and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, said in the statement.

"We took a dilapidated and underutilized government building and transformed it into one of the most iconic hotels in the world."

In a statement posted on his Truth Social account, Donald Trump added: "The redevelopment of the long vacant and dilapidated Old Post Office in Washington, D.C. was both a great honor and achievement for The Trump Organization.

"We created a true masterpiece, and know that it will do much to glorify our Nation for many years to come. Our salutations and best wishes to The Waldorf Astoria!"

Trump opened the hotel in 2016 just a few weeks before he was elected president. During his time in the White House, the hotel was a focal point for Trump's political world, used by diplomats, lobbyists, embassy staff and meetings for the former president and his family.

However, the hotel suffered major losses in recent years due to a mixture of the COVID-19 pandemic and a loss of prestige since Trump left the White House.

It was reported that the hotel had lost more than million during Trump's time in office, with reports that people were also put off staying at the hotel in the wake of the January 6 attack, which Trump was accused of inciting.

"It used to be the hub of Trump World but I can't imagine who goes there now," journalist and author Sally Quinn told The Guardian in March 2021. "I don't know anybody who goes there or has gone there."

Just before the sale went through, The Trump Organization agreed to pay 0,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine over allegations it illegally received excessive payments from the inauguration committee.

The settlement was not an admission of guilt from Trump, his business, or the inaugural committee.

"This was yet another example of weaponizing Law Enforcement against the Republican Party and, in particular, the former President of the United States. So bad for our Country," Trump said in a statement to Newsweek.

"It was my great honor to have built this truly great hotel out of a structure that had laid dormant for thirty years, creating jobs and so many other benefits for the people of D.C., and indeed, our Country itself. A true landmark has been created out of nothing!"

When To Feed A Dog After Vomiting

15-02-2022 · A dog throwing up yellow foam or bile at night or in the morning can often be caused by an empty stomach. A lack of food can cause bile to build up and irritate your dog’s stomach lining, so in this case, it’s a good idea to feed your dog after vomiting yellow.

Do not feed your dog for 12 to 24 hours. Once your dog has not vomited for at least 6 hours, you can offer a small meal. A bland, easily digestible food such as cooked white rice mixed with boiled white meat chicken (no bones or skin) is ideal, but you can also use a small portion of your dog’s regular diet.

How long should I wait to feed my dog after vomiting? Wait and Observe After a dog vomits, it’s generally best to withhold food for several hours and observe, but don’t withhold water. 2 If your dog vomits one time and then acts completely normal, you can probably resume your normal feeding routine within six to 12 hours, or when the next meal is due.

What should I feed my dog after vomiting? Chicken and rice are prime ingredients in many dog foods, and these mild foods sit well on upset canine stomachs. Plus, this bland meal is easy to prepare. All you need are boneless, skinless chicken breasts and rice.

Should I give my dog water after vomiting?

It is important to give your dog’s digestive system some time to recoup and rest from the vomiting by not feeding your dog for 12-24 hours. You can give your dog small amounts of water to keep them hydrated. Food and large amounts of water will only aggravate your dog’s upset stomach.

Should I walk my dog after vomiting?

Allow them to rest. Don’t force your dog to play or walk if they don’t seem interested. Their body will need to naturally recover after vomiting, which is generally over a period of 1-2 days.

Can I feed my dog eggs after vomiting?

Scrambled eggs are good if your canine companion is suffering from diarrhea or vomiting. Start by offering a small amount of the cooled eggs, every couple of hours, and if this is kept down you can slowly increase the amount.
